This really does look like a BSA CADET MAJOR from about the late 1950s to about early 1960s or however long they were made, by the state it's in. I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised to learn its done shooting gallery time in a fairground stall. Thousands of .177 Beezer Cadet Majors like this were always found at fairgrounds when I was a youngster. Either those or Meteors! Perhaps a call or email to BSA will confirm its true I.D and age?
